1995 NO Crank problem

1995 Chevy C1500. Was running & driving fine until last Tuesday, get in it and no crank. Battery charger/starter connected with 16volts on the dash, and it clicks 1 time. So, order a new starter and get it installed today, same issue. Turn key, 1 click. I can see the alternator slowly turning...
