    building a wiring harness for a hot rod and using 0411 ecm and vortec 5.7 harness. can i remove the solid state ignition control module and use an msd 6al in place of it since the msd is an ignition control module in itself. the white input wire on the 6al would go to the pcm pin 26.

    Thanks guys, still a lot of work to go to make the truck nice but its slowly getting there. Ive picked up a set of NBS front brakes and spindles. working on getting them powder coated and going to new energy suspension bushings, bilstein shocks, new moog ball joints.

    96+ temp gauge sender

    So i used a couple different resistors to see what resistance the gauge wants. Ohms----Temp F 180------about 140* 120------about 180* 100------about 210* 75-------about 235* I've looked and cant find a sensor that is near these values.

    I used the ebay ls swap motor mount plates and the pacesetter headers for 99+ 4x4 truck. to keep your stock trans youll need a flywheel spacer and longer bolts, these come off the 6.0l 4l80 trucks. The stock truck ls pan works just fine also.

    well its about 100 degrees at full operating temp. Its not the gauge, its not the wiring. Its the sensors. Ive got 6 of these trucks and had over around 10 and the only ones that displayed the correct temp was the ones with the original sensors.

    Ordered HP tuners so I can try to get this thing to idle, Also muffler on its way. I went with a Jones Exhaust Quiet Tone muffler that is dual 3" in and dual 2.5" out. Hoping it sounds good and not too loud as I love my magnaflow on my 96 z71 its 3" straight through 7" round
