You don't need to flash the computer everything is the same the only thing you have to do is when you go to read the codes though obd2 you need to remember that it had 5.0 so you can read everything everything from a 5.0 to a 5.7 is the same except for the bore- Koda004

I have already been through all of this everything will be fine if you just drop in a 5.7 the only time you really have to worry about harness and computer is if you going to an automatic from a manual you don't need the exhaust system unless you want it my 97 k1500 came with a 5.0 and I put in...- Koda004
