    Gm Semi float 14 bolt, trash or rebuild?

    IMO if cost is a factor, dont go to disc brakes. the braking benefit will be marginal, & fresh brakes work great. i do confess the whole semi-float vs full float/C vs K is very confusing! i thought semi floats were always 6 lug, but maybe thats only on the K side. i am clueless about C side...

    another detail thats big...139,000 original miles. stock engine, only mod is a TBI spacer. also has a tow package with brake controller, though i never used it to tow anything. It also appears to have never been used for plowing, no accessories ever found for plowing.

    454. i bought this truck to fulfill my dream of a 454SS with 4WD & a stick shift. although, the kilduff lightning rods look so good, i might cave & go auto. that would be a tough call, its hard to find stick shift trucks anymore. :)

    thats a fair point. i suppose mentioning the front brakes is moot. im weighing cost vs possiblilty of more costs because it may leak, vs a system which is simpler & therefore more reliable...i might kick myself for upgrading if it develops problems.
