Reversion Raceworks 1999 C2500 Suburban "REVurban" Build Thread

As previously stated, the dealer may have had that installed but it's not a GM thing. Whipple is just down the road depending on what CA dealer sold it new. I see you have the 1.6L compressor though, gotta hunt you down a 2.3 and bolt it onto the rest of the kit. Weird that you're missing...

An F Body Guy With a Lot of Trucks

Here's mine right now. Engine is out to retard the cam and plug some leaks. Trans had developed a hard shifting issue that appears to have been cause by a wallered out pilot bushing (killed it in 5 events) which was caused by excessive endplay inside the trans. Also gonna make sure the bell...

    Trans Temperature gauge

Stock does good if you're not towing. Even then, if you can keep the TCC locked you may not need a cooler. But I also know how insanely hot and hilly the desert is over by AZ/CA.

    Trans Temperature gauge

Tough for me to say in absolute terms, but I will say the response appears to be much slower there than in the pan.

    12200411 PCM swap for 1996 to 2000 GMT400 trucks

With the low boost levels, my thought has been that it would run like this at a lower elevation without the blower. Up here you don't have much else if a choice. Last time I was NA with it at a lower elevation I think was 2015, and that was pre-marine cam/intake as well. Thing was effortless...

    12200411 PCM swap for 1996 to 2000 GMT400 trucks

I see now that I chopped the whole right column off of my image. In the past I'd usually hit 110kpa, but on that day I saw 116.

    12200411 PCM swap for 1996 to 2000 GMT400 trucks

NA we see about 79kpa at my house.

    Slow Roller

Why not pop 2 more holes in there and bolt/rivet that thing to the truck? Then it'd stay even if you removed all 5.

    Trans Temperature gauge

Where does it go from there? I have my gauge in my 1500 installed in the rest port but I put a bung in my dually's pan. Whenever I do my overdue trans flush on the 1500 I'll add a bung to that pan as well.

    Trans Temperature gauge

If that's the case your converter is never gonna lock up. On a 4L80 the sensor lives in the trans harness, random fact.

    12200411 PCM swap for 1996 to 2000 GMT400 trucks

I forgot to ask if this is a table you created by tuning a 411 on a truck or did you nerd out and extrapolate a blackbox MAF table into 411 format? Also, I found this interesting. This histogram is from V7.5, I have a log of hp/tq (calculated) from V8 somewhere that has me around 360hp...

Well it fixed the check engine light but now runs like crap

So Schurkey was right. All you needed to do was set your CMPRET. But now that you've opened up Pandora's Box you need to do a crank relearn in addition to that CMPRET. The latter can be a accomplished with a Bluetooth dealie and a cell phone app while the former needs a bidirectional tool. The...

    Paycheck again at 71?

Why not ask for 60? How bad do you need this job? It sounds to me they need you more than you need them.

    Long tubes

But the uncoated and send them out for a quality ceramic coating.

Well it fixed the check engine light but now runs like crap

No, there is a relearn that should be performed when the CKP sensor or PCM is changed out. It's the Crank Angle Sensor Error (CASE) relearn. You'll need some sort of bidirectional controller to perform it, so someone with a decent scanner or tuning software.

Would you still get an alignment done?

I've never heard of a GMT400 that couldn't max out a crank with stock keys and bars.
  17. S

Would you still get an alignment done?

You can crank stock keys right to the downstops, not sure why you wasted your money there.

    External Transmission cooler add on

There are 2 different style of upper mount, one being easier to modify than the other. I've modded both.

That's the stuff, Walmart sells it cheapest by the gallon.

    Headers, headers, HEADERS??

Me? I don't have a problem. I have headers because I like power.
  21. S

    Headers, headers, HEADERS??

Bone stock engines benefit from headers, so agree to disagree.
  22. S

    Headers, headers, HEADERS??

Yeah, I had to clearance a tube on my Z06. No way were manifolds going back on! Engine would rub the steering shaft in a corner.

    Transfer case stupid question thread

No, they have a fluid that claims to be compatible with Dex III-H. That said I've been using the not Dex3 Dex3 in my stuff without issue, but like Schurkey said the spec no longer exists. And I wasn't tracking that Dex6 was not for not transmission applications, so I learned a thing.

    Transfer case stupid question thread

    What's the H in Dex III-H?
  25. S

    Transfer case stupid question thread

None. Can even go to Dex6 since Dex3 isn't a thing anymore.
