Passenger window rolls down, not up— switch is good

Broken window regulator? Do you hear the motor at all when you try to roll it up? If someone pulls up gently on the window to get it started, does it start working?

4L60e to 4L80e swapped. Detent lever issues?

I didn't do that. I actually had a shop do the swap (I didn't have access to a garage at the time). I'll crawl under and see if I can reset that cable. Thanks!

    Stupid 10 bolt

Exactly why I can't wait to get my 14-bolt SF axle rebuilt and put under the truck. This 10-bolt is definitely the weakest link in the drivetrain with the 4L80e in here now.

4L60e to 4L80e swapped. Detent lever issues?

Alright, OBS gurus. I need your help. Finally getting around to working out some of the little issues in the truck that just aren't "right". Years ago, I had a 4L80e swapped in place of my 4L60e that lost third and fourth gear. I had the connectors at the PCM re-pinned according to a wiring...

    TOTM questions and coments thread

I honestly had a little bit of a hard time finding one last time. I slid in the rain a couple years ago and tagged the hitch of a truck in front of me. Needed a new front bumper. I ended up finding it here, just in case you have the same trouble finding one...

Any Advantage to a Suburban over a Tahoe/Yukon???...

Ahem! Lol. I wish I took a picture of it. I put a 60 gallon Ingersoll Rand air compressor in the back of my Yukon. Seats were folded down. I had to leave the tailgate down as well. But it got it home. My friend was surprised we didn't bend the tailgate getting it out. That sucker was HEAVY...

    TOTM questions and coments thread

It's funny, I'm basically building a Yukon version of your suburban's color scheme. It already had the two-tone, but I bought some OEM fender flares from a yard, and plan on painting them the same gold color. I also got a Z71 bumper with the fog lights and brush guard, and a paintable rear...

    96 c1500 vortec 5.7 crank no start

Are you 100% sure you're getting fuel AND spark? Engines need three basic things: air, fuel, and spark. The last two are usually the issue when it will crank and not start. You can get a tool that goes between your spark plugs and wires, and it has a window to confirm you're getting spark...

    Show us some job carnage

It's funny how I landed into it. I got an entry-level job just transporting patients, did that for a couple years, and decided to dive deeper. It definitely took some getting used to, and there are some cases and patients that you always carry with you. But, overall, I still love what I do...

    Show us some job carnage

Job carnage. Oh boy. I work as a nurse in the operating room of a pretty large local hospital. I've seen a ton, but obviously can't post pictures or get too specific. Missing limbs from industrial accidents, one guy got his foot run over by a forklift, DUI rollover accidents, gunshots...

99 suburban rear right barn door glass

I hear you. I had a rear glass broken out on my 1996 Yukon a couple years ago. I got it replaced, but the tint doesn't match the other side. When I complained to the shop, they said it was all they could find, and that there was nothing they could do. The truck is the beater, so I didn't push...

    Phoenix AZ Area (Glendale) Dino's Git Down November 11 & 12, 2022

I'll definitely plan on going next year. I have a list of things to get done before the show next year. This might be a problem. Lol.

    The Yukon

Thanks, man. Crazy how a few years can just fly by. It's been a rollercoaster, but definitely rewarding. I go through phases of working less and enjoying more time, or working a ton. I'm at about 70 hours for this week. That's a little more than I usually like to work. Glad to see you're still...

    The Yukon

What's happening everyone! I'm back! Let's see. In the last three years I got a job working in the operating room as a nurse, bought a house, and then all my fun money went towards projects and remodeling for that. Also, I had a slight fender bender in the rain when I was moving, so the...

    Phoenix AZ Area (Glendale) Dino's Git Down November 11 & 12, 2022

I was there! Drove 700 miles from Modesto on Thursday. Drove back Sunday. It was a great time. I wish I had thought to check the forums before we went, I haven't logged on in quite a while. I was pretty happy the Yukon made it all there with no issues. It's been a long time since I've driven...

    Steering Wheel Swap

If I remember correctly, the splines on the steering shaft are different, but someone may be able to chime in to confirm this for sure. I just remember hearing that it was an issue.

SUV roof mounted luggage rack & cross bar question

I'm fairly certain they do, but I've never taken my roof rack off (yet). I'm planning to swap mine for a denali rack, so if I get to that soon, I'll let you know what I find. Strange that yours would be missing that.

93 c3500 crew cab dually to 12 seater burb

So you would have your crew cab, and then behind it have the rear doors of the suburban body for a total of 6 doors? I guess it's possible. All about what you can find as a donor and your skillset (or money available). It would definitely be unique.

    Rare paint codes

8 pages in and no one with this color, so I guess it's rare. I have only seen a couple the same color. GM WA9828 - Medium Dark Teal Metallic. I kept the same color in a repaint about 8 years ago, and I still love it. Looks darker sometimes, and very light in sunshine. On a side note, anyone...

    4l60e compatibility question?!

I would think as long as the connector is the same, that the transmission will operate the same. If the connector is different you can re-pin wires and do some research, but even that can be made to work. I swapped a 4L80e into my truck, which came with a 4L60e stock. Different style connector...

    The Yukon

Picked up this bad boy last week. Ingersoll Rand 80-gallon compressor. I had it laying down in the back of the truck with the seats folded down. It leaked a little oil on the carpet that I had to clean up. A friend of mine helped me unload it. This thing is HEAVY! I still need to get a 220v...

    Anyone saw this

Can't stand it. The doors are weird. The front fender profile doesn't match the rear fender profile. Look at the taillights, how they cut the body to fit them. They extend underneath the rear window on the side. :nono: The GMT400 trucks have a front end that is perfectly sized for the body...

    The Yukon

Thanks man. I'm working on lightly wetsanding the clear to get rid of the orange peel. I do a small panel every couple days. I'm taking my time and being careful. So far, the difference is amazing to see in person. Also, I put the smaller pulley on the whipple a week ago. I'm taking it easy...
