My hood and roof are REALLY starting to show their age after this past winter. It was like the clear coat suddenly started failing. It's a long ways down the list though

    Vortec Big block performance upgrades.

Quick correction on this: A ZZ502 cam will NOT directly swap in. Our heads do not have enough clearance for the rockers to depress the valves without hitting the valve stem boss. HP tuners will tune a black box 98+, and will tune a 0411 swap

    Vortec Big block performance upgrades.

Yeah, those look like Chinese copies. When you swap the injectors, you don't need a tune, but they may flow a little different. Your STFT's and LTFT's will vary a smidge but it'll be something the ECU can compensate for on its own. Find some real OEM Ford injectors or some from a wrecking yard...

The Official Vortec 454 Info thread

Each port doesn't need it's own o-ring. You could mold an o-ring of out of silicone if you wanted that would be just like the gasket made for the plenum. Two acrylic plates (so you can see voids) with the pattern milled out put together, pour it, vacuum chamber it, then separate them. People...

    My K1500 DD Tow Pig

My the first set of powerstops I put on (Sep 19) only stunk when I initially bedded them in. They lasted only 15kmi with no towing. With my second set (Jul 22) stink every once in a while with heavy braking.

    BNielsen's 2000 Chevy K3500

My Ace here is about half that size. Used to only be ace and a general store back in the 90s and early 2000s. There was a farm that sold fertilizer and weed too that's still around (but the grass seed is full of weeds now, no thanks) Then Lowe's showed up not far down the way.

Software versions of a previously used pc do not restrict you from using a PC with an older version to download, or upload. The interface and what you are allowed to see/do with the ECU may change with the software version, but they cannot hard-code the ECU differently besides tune-locking via...

    My 454 Rebuild

Behold: I receive a tune I cannot open as it's too new. Open VM with newer software, open file. I receive a file from a newer version with a table I want. Open in appropriate VM, copy table into Excel. Export file to main machine, copy-paste to older version. What situation were you imagining...

    My 454 Rebuild

It's not, but why should I do it if everything's fine? I've had stability issues writing after software updates. I keep the installation package for every version but unfortunately was taken by surprise when my firmware got upgraded also for my interface module. At least those with newer...

    My 454 Rebuild

Unfortunately I can't read it. I'm too far behind on software updates to open it. Honestly after all of the EPA charges against that one diesel tuning company they may be locking things down with what you can/can't do with tuning software soon.

I can just feel the difference. I have some things on Amazon picked out, some switching solid state relays and what-not to give me an indicator. But usually I just watch to see if my trans downshifts or upshifts when I press the button and then I know

I got mine from a newer full size, and to use it you'll need to file another flat where it attaches. Astro is much easier, you won't need to file anything. I will suggest a little blue loctite on the mounting screw when you put it in though, like how the old one will come out.

I knocked over my old tensioner assembly box yesterday I meant to buy a new bearing for about a year ago. I'm just now working on dynamat in my car, and that stuff has been sitting in the garage for 3mo just waiting on me.

Well, if the city has their own dot/Street maintenance crew then it's out of the NCdot hands (IE, they'll tell you to screw off). Doesn't hurt to send a message to them: https://www.ncdot.gov/contact/Pages/form.aspx?UnitName=pothole&sourceUrl=/contact/

    My 454 Rebuild

Well, it's basically a glass pack, and glasspacks are, well, glasspacks. Flow enough exploding air through them at the right size and it sounds great. Flow it quickly and without a bunch of turbulence (headers, no cats) and it sounds even better. A 80 series or super 40 also sounds good with a...

If you're outside city limits NCDOT has a pothole reporting form online you fill out and they'll fill it in a few days. I've done tons of them around my area.

    My 454 Rebuild

One would need to turn off the CEL for any errors the rear O2s would produce, and then you can just remove them without making them trip. I can send you a screenshot via PM in a bit. My pipes are 3" from the headers to the H-pipe and mufflers, then necked down to 2.75 due to back pressure...
