88-91 vs 92-94 DASH DIFFERENCES - do they matter?

agreed!!! im redoing my dash again currently... the kicker here is, back years ago I dash swapped to a 99 suburban dash and now that its all broken up I cant buy a new core for it.. i can go back with the original 91 dash, but Ive already swapped and the wiring is different and everything!! so...

100% do the shock extenders on the rear. they will make the shocks actually work again, otherwise they sit in the truck sideways not holding anything

I never even thought about the uppers... I may do those myself on mine. Have to measure my shock length to make sure its long enough to extend to the new location. But I agree, any opportunity to get your shock in the correct position will help tremendously.

    Difference in tach signal

im running a 99 burb dash and cluster in my 91 and even with the resistor mod to "excite" the tach it is so inaccurately low its sad. It reads like 1500rpm at 5k and 800 at idle. it sucks.

you're probably going to want bottom of fender to center of wheel.. tire size and wheel size will change the ride height to the ground too much to give you an accurate number.

I just put them in.. all they are doing is keeping the coil at full compression from being able to squeeze completely solid. It just softened the extreme movement for me when it was fully compressed. the shocks made all the difference. You can go tight enough that they will never hit again...

    Reinforce dashboard?

its very hard to reinforce those sections where the bezel snaps into the dash itself. Not a real good way to do it honestly. Ive seen people jimmy up a hook setup that grabs the dash when inserted close, you end up having a good bit of fiberglass reinforcement still as the hooks need to be...

    The Shock Thread

the purpose of the shock extenders is not as descriptive as it sounds. When you lower the truck, the mounting points rotate out of alignment. This makes the shock actually sit in there sideways rather than vertical. It works as a lever rather than actually absorbing up and down movement. The...
