    Sas curve frame 3500?

Yes, it's been done. It's just a more work getting the bracket angles correct.

Backfiring through exhaust when engine is warm

What about a cat that's clogging up? I've seen them clog up to the point where they would get hot and shoot a section of "honeycomb" out the tail pipe.

Find the casting number on those heads. Cast is stock to TBI. Aluminum is not.

If you have a decent coil, 40 will be fine.

    Best tune up parts?

AC Delco plugs, second choice is NGKs MSD has gone down in quality over the years. Fire Core are the best wires out right now, but big $$$ find a set you can afford in the color you want I would do at least 7.5mm. Check Summit brand first.

5.7 TBI to Carb swap + Rebuild Questions

Are you looking to make power? Throw away the stock heads, buy used Vortecs with a China knock off intake, add carb and cam, then you'll be 350 hp depending on parts. If you go with that plan you have, about 230 on a good day.

    Good Source for NV3500s

Nothing wrong with a good NV3500. A guy on youtube shows how he rebuilds them. Otherwise, I'd go here for a reman. http://www.midwesttrans.com/NV3500_HM290_Manual_Transmission.html

    Nv3500 or nv4500

I think the 5th gear lock nut problem was Dodge only. The early NV4500s had and external slave and a lower first gear. In 95, the first gear changed. In 96, they went to internal slaves. I've owned an early and a late NV4500 and love them. I also owned a 5LM60 that was awesome. But the...

    Will these heads/block match?

For a while, I was picking up gmt400s that had a crate motor in them, but had bad transmissions, etc, for dirt cheap. I could hear them run. Consider that route and slap your Vortecs on it. You can get knock of intakes for $150 and a decent cam for $200.

A RCSB lowered, with a 4.8/T-56 could probably hit 25.

    Ls fuel economy

I have a 1988 (square body) V2500 Suburban. Its got 60/14 swap, and a built TH400. 4.10 gearing and 35" tall tires. I get 14-15 mpg with it. If it had OD I'd probably get 16-17.

Is this a pinion or ball joint axle. ZOOM IN to check

    89 k3500 srw vs k2500

As far as I know the 70 was an option, not sure why. The 70 and 14 bolt are about the same strength. You can argue one is better or stronger than the other. I prefer the 14 because of the way the ring and pinion are set up.
