I see an unplugged knock sensor. This Throttle body injection system needs to have the knock sensor plugged in or it won`t run for long.

It will run just fine, the ECM will not be able to retard the ignition timing if there is any detonation

If the knock sensor is not connected, I'd expect the ECM to
1. Set a code and turn on the MIL.
2. Run the engine in reduced-power mode.

But I haven't been through the service manual to see what the official story is.

So I got the headers today and tried to put one in. They won't work unless I cut the exhaust. I don't need to add more work so I returned them and ordered the manifold. Should have it by Wed.

Since I didn't have anything else to do,I did the compression test. Starting on the passenger side going back to front (8,6,4,2) heres what I got:
105
120
95
83
That was the easy side, since it didn't have the manifold on it. I wish the other side was as easy.

Drivers side's back to front(7,5,3,1):
90
95
87
97

Looking online, I am finding it should in much higher, but I will let your guy's tell me.

Just so nobody asks, I put the tester in, cranked it 4 different times.

That is pretty pathetic compression.

I'd have to agree with Skylark. Those number aren't that great.

You could try a 'wet' compression test also by squirting a little oil into the cylinders, crank over the engine, then test compression.

IF the number rise quite a bit then it's a good indication of worn rings/cylinders.

If it don't or hardly makes a difference then good possibility of valves not sealing.

Heck ya got till Wednesday, may as well get a more complete picture of the numbers.
