Added my $1.00 comment to that thread.

well now.......perhaps an intelligent post such as that will give pause to someone on the fence about to pull the trigger on that "upgrade"

a while back i stopped posting in the "towing" thread......i got charged up in there too and apparently offended some innocent reader.......all those posts i made that time were deleted too.......in there i also went on to discuss the legal ramifications of towing overloaded......not many give a ****.

yea, i guess i do have a dog in the towing race.......i was an authorized tow operator on the Brooklyn Queens Expressway for 10 years.....most of the dead people i came across were due to improper towing and tractor trailer accidents.......i lost count of just how many tourniquets i applied to folks' mangled appendages.....and i forgot just how many dead kids i've seen.

we've discussed all sorts of **** in here.........and the bottom line is we kept the thread geared toward what is within legal parameters with available parts.

fact is, i was not in compliance years ago with e-codes in my trucks........so yea, i'm on the "hypocrite list" too.......i also don't drive drunk anymore.......well, i don't even drink anymore, but that's not the topic here.

88GMC has done some of the best work i've seen on lighting to date.........and i commend HIM on it..........like i had posted in there.........some idiot will try to emulate that work and end up blinding yet another hapless motorist.........THAT is my big problem with these modifications............

i can understand just why the Candlepower Forum won't even discuss or allow posing about illegal lighting..........hell, they don't acknowledge Spyder lights and actual headlights!

ok, i'm running late for my second to last day of work..........

Funny, I just sent some packages up there yesterday! Getting some old watches repaired.

Good luck with the last couple days, Bill. Hope your new gig treats you better.

And very well written post in the other thread, @Brother Al!

Thank You for the comments guys. People simply need to look at the bigger picture when they fundamentally change safety equipment, especially headlights. Bill, I didnt see your post, but I feel pretty fkn confident that you were not trolling the thread... in fact, Im kinda amused of the idea, because based on how you post, I know you were just being very honest and said your piece... now, if someone gets offended, I can understand... The guy clearly put a lot of time, work, and $$$ into this headlight set-up, but many spectacular ideas and inventions have been canned because of the most obvious thing wasnt seen through the trees. The Forest in this one is a fundamental problem with the concept.

And just so everyone is on the same page, this is a headlight issue.

ShovelBill,

I have been reading your thread for the past 2 weeks in my spare time and I am up to page 102. I already purchased and installed the TYC blinker lens in my 95' and I will be getting the Spyder headlamps soon. I am also going to wire up my own headlight relay harness as I am going to make one for my Camaro as well.

I just want to thank you for all your research and honesty on you thread and life in general. I share the same blunt opinion on life and what I think in daily life and boy do people get offended easily over silly things. So I am off to continue reading up to the present...

i wasn't trolling.....and of course my "crass" comments and questions were replied to by someone......i do have strong opinions and i did sorta go off after that...i guess calling someone a "little ***" is against the rules. i was having a bad day and it got the better of me.....but i did say i was sorry. then someone must have tattled on me again.......those posts got deleted.......****** snowflakes.

anyway......i'm not getting involved in towing or lighting threads anymore. i'll stay here with you guys.

ok.......my biggest problem right now is i need a flywheel. she's on a flat spot and i can't start her.......i did replace the starter a few months ago, it wasn't engaging properly. i guess it ground off some teeth......i had no time to investigate with all the other balls i have in the air.

i haven't driven the truck much.....after the "monsoon season" was over i pretty much just rode the bikes....it rained 42 of the first 60 days i was up here......that's not normal........

i've put over 14,000 miles on the bikes, 11,000 on the little Ford Focus i got.......i'm pretty sure i have about 14,000 miles on the 383 now too, since the transplant.......then engine is flawless, i love it.
