If it makes ya feel any better I got myself one on my flipper truck.
In my opinion there would be no way you would warp any valves due to rapid heat dissipation. Of course there will be a little less heat but not like it would be a rapid cool down. I have run headers on my truck for 18 years now but it’s a 350. Don’t see why Cubic inch would make a difference though.Had a little discussion with my dad about putting headers on my truck; he asked my why I would go to all the trouble, explained possibly warping the valves from the rapid dissipation of heat and such; would I really run into any issues with the engine's internals if I ran headers??
I tried researching to see if anyone with a 454 ever caused damage to the engine by running headers but I couldn't find anything.
