Bilstein 5100s came in. I wanted 4600s but the store ordered 5100s. Not gonna complain. They are good for stock ride height and up to 2" of lift. The front struts are adjustable to 2” lift and the rears just have more travel. They'll be installed soon.

Took me forever to get to but I rented a strut spring compressor from AutoZone and got the suspension squared away. Leveled the front out by setting the front struts at 1.5" of lift and the rear shocks were a breeze. They look pretty good under there. It's bound to the garage until it gets an alignment mid week though. I had to take the top ball joints loose and it's got some mean camber going on. Looks like a Ford TTB at full droop hahaha

On the short term mod list for this is a GDE hot tune and DPF delete. I'll be able to run readily available oils as opposed to the harder to locate low ash ones, and the tune will hopefully provide a nice bump in power and fuel economy. All the reviews rave about the tune.

Wife has complained of a heavy exhaust smell in cabin. I did some investigating just now. Right front cylinder injector seal is leaking. I pulled all the fancy plastics and foams off. Left side was spotless. Right front is right by the oil fill and I found a gooey blackish mess in the valve cover recesses. Looked like pools of oil but it was the consistency of bubble gum. Yuck. Picked a fair bit of it out and started the jeep and smoke was visible exiting from the injector. Also could hear an audible puff as it exhausted every stroke. Also have to get on the tune train soon. The PCV system is pretty much dumping oil into the compressor side of the turbo and oiling everything up around that area. Gross.

I hope you never have the throttle light come on with the check engine more than like if it does happen will be those swivel valves which is there intake flaps and are a pain in the ass to do on that motor!

The GDE tune will eliminate the swirl motor issues. I've heard they're a nightmare when they start giving you trouble. I'm hoping that the tune will be installed in a few months. I'm currently off work for the winter and don't have enough left in savings to be buying anything that expensive at the moment. I'm looking around for work cause part of me wants a job change so it may very well be something I invest in within a month if things go well.

Found out I don't need a tune to get rid of the CCV. I can vent it to atmosphere with no issues. There's just a little heater in the stock hose that can be removed with no hard DTC codes. It just stores a soft code and it won't trip the light. I will eventually plumb the CCV into the exhaust. Probably into the DPF delete pipe.

Speaking of that I learned that the export models never had provisions for DPF. Meaning there is a factory Mopar DPF delete pipe! How convenient! Better yet they're throw away parts across the pond. Meaning I can have one on my door step stupid cheap compared to the aftermarket.
