No big deal, the only thing I second guess on that I did right now is the new fuel pump did not have o-rings on the line fittings so I installed it without putting the old ones on. It didn't leak anywhere though, but when things don't work I constantly second guess everything.

Is there any chance it could be the camshaft sensor or the crankshaft sensor? Wouldn't these prevent it from starting?

Fuel pressure is identical after the new fuel pump, so I am guessing it is the fuel pressure regulator. I am going to put the MPFI upgraded unit on Tuesday night and see what that does.

I had an in-tank fuel pump go bad once, the pressure always checked in spec but after running a few minutes there wasn't enough volume of gas and engine power was almost non-existent. Took the fuel line loose on the engine side of the fuel filter and tried it, took several minutes to fill up a quart container. P1345 code is timing related, need to hook up a code scanner with live reading capability and check the timing, should be 0 +/- 2 degrees.

I changed the spider last night with an AC Delco unit, truck acts the same. Pulled the codes again, only P1345 still shows. Checked the fuel pressure again and with the key on engine off it goes to 60, then back to 56. Running it is around 52 and goes up when you give it fuel. I check it on my truck that runs fine and it is about the same, that should rule out the gauge. But the book says it should have 60 - 66 psi although I never get that on either of them. Not really sure what to do now except take it to a mechanic.

I downloaded the dashcommand app, purchased it (9.99), bought the additional 1997 purchase for the CMP (9.99) and the timing is running -19 degrees, I guess the distributor needs pulled and replaced.

I pulled the distributor today, expected a thin gear but it was thick. Nice aftermarket aluminum one that has no adjustment, but I moved it forward a little and changed the cam sensor and got the codes to all go away. I was getting a live miss on cylinder 2 and others, put a plug on the wire on cylinder 2 and noticed it quite firing after about 2 seconds of starting. I stuck another wire on it and changed the plug to another one. The truck is now throwing po300, and is missing randomly on all cylinders, but is getting better the more we drove it. You can drive it now and as long as you don't accelerate hard it does pretty good, wondering if now it isn't some water in the fuel?

Mechanic that fixed it told me he eventually changed the distributor cap again, said they 2 cylinders that were missing were on the cap beside each other and he thought they had burned through.
