Hey Guys, it's been awhile posting for me. I've been accumulating parts for a long time now and can FINALLY get started. Sometimes life gets in the way of stuff we want to do. Anyway, I did go with the Little Shop kit. I tried to get as many of the parts together as I could to prevent redoing certain tasks. I did not have to remove the bed of the truck to do the brakes, but I decided to remove it so I could: do the brakes, lower the rear 2" more, fuel pump upgrade for upcoming 5.3 install etc..

This is totally stock, except for the 2" rear lowering shackles I installed shortly after I bought the truck about 4 years ago. It has Monroe gas magnum shocks and 15x7 American Eagle rims w 235/75-15 tires.

I had purchased the Little Shops kit because it could be installed without removing the rear axles. However, I found my rear pinion and axles seals were all leaking and needed to be replaced. Also, if you do not remove the axles, you have to cut the brake backing plate off. By removing the axles, I was able to unbolt the backing plates and remove intact. That way I might be able to use them in the future for something else. Note the position of the factory brake line.

I'll post up more pics shortly. Want to make sure I am not making them huge or tiny...If so, I will fix..

You guys got me thinking.... Last year I changed my 1988 stock MC to the 2002 version. ( I did it when my booster went bad.)
My brake light stays on ( no blinking).... Is it possible the light is on because my stock setup " thinks" something is wrong, due to the 2002 MC??
( and no, it's not the parking brake switch)

Here are some more pics of my setup. I have not attached the parking brake or done anything with the brake hose. Its just the caliper mounting bracket (which fit perfectly) and the disc mounted.

A better look at the whole kit. Instructions were very good. The calipers with parking brake feature. Nice quality, well worth the $$.

Everything connected...

Top view with parking brake and brake line mounted, note the re-bent brake line. BE VERY careful bending it by hand not to kink the line.

Overall, the kit does fit with my 15" aftermarket wheels. It's close, but there is clearance.

An external view of the brakes.

Just a shot of the completed rear setup with the bed on....

I needed new tires anyway (my justification), so I upgraded my rims to 17x8 American Racing wheels with new Falken tires. It gives more clearance, but not too much. I like it. I plan on upgrading the front brakes as well very shortly AND am going to install a 2002 Tahoe master cylinder. I'm hoping with the mc I can leave my abs alone. I can tell you more about that as I get the brakes finished up.

Mountie, did you still have rear drums? or did you convert to discs? The 2002 mc you have and that I am going to install was made for 4 wheel discs. If you have drums the difference in pressure may be why your light is on. Not sure, I have not gotten that far yet. Let me know if you find your solution, I would be curious to know.

how did you like the kit from Little MFG? I am thinking of getting the kit too, but am pretty sure you would need a propotioning valve or a new master cyclinder to get the correct pressure to front and backs when braking. Did you need to do anything to your brake lines?

If you go to there site you can get a new master cylinder from them or do what I did. I went to Auto Zone and got the master cylinder from them for 99 07 GM trucks and sun's. The, part #NM4073 also get the AGS adapter BLF-C26. It goes on the brake line farthest from the booster or go to YOUTUBE. My 97 tahoe stops like a new truck.
