Hi, I'm new to posting but have been a habitual lurker for quite some time. I've been thinking about doing an LS swap to finally get some power in the old girl because it just doesn't seem worth the money thrown into the ole 5.7. I live in Wyoming with ever changing weather and don't want to deal with a carb and can't seem to find straight answers regarding the vortec and various EFI kits like the FiTech and Holley Sniper systems. So the next logical step seams to be a 5.3l swap. So that brings me to the question of how to recoup some money in the swap. so how much is the 5.7l worth? It was a replacement factory 5.7l longblock and the warranty is up, now I know I should've swapped the LS when the original vortec put a rod through the oil pan. Hindsight is 20/20, as the motor sits in the truck she's got about 12,000 miles on her and I'm just looking for opinions on how much she is worth. Thanks for the replies!

A complete 5.7 vortec sells for $400-600 around here. If I was looking for what you have and you had the paperwork to back up the mileage I would go $750-800.

Cool man good to know, I gotta find the paperwork but it should definitely help recoup some of the hemorrhaging of this swap cost.
