I need to get this on video because it just leaks oil right from the holes in the aluminum end.

I want to do the oil filter mod and something else besides these factory oil drain lines.

I know I have replaced one maybe both of these lines before and how they leak at either end but this is crazy.

Those crimps have also leaked on my OEM lines as well as the replacement lines. I have a 4.3l that doesnt tow much so I just ended up removing the oil cool adapter housing therefore bypassing it and mounting the filter directly to the block.

I need to investigate some more because I may be mistaken.

The only way for me to do the straight down filter is to do away with the cooler lines correct?

My lines leaked like crazy. I ended up making my own out of AN fittings and braided hose.

Just run it without the cooler. use a regular filter adapter.
So many trucks lived forever without oil coolers...I say unless your truck usage falls into the "severe duty" category, constantly towing heavy loads or similar hard use, the oil cooler is not needed.

I replaced my upper line a few months ago..... a week later the lower fn line started leaking. I knew the stock type replacements were known to start leaking so i got some heat shrink and put it over the crimped ends to help keep the leaking at bay. Now i get to dod he same thing wih the lower in the spring.

I don't believe you can do the vertical filter at all with IFS. And as others stated, many of these vehicles shipped from the factory with the cooler lines plugged. Mine included.
