Hey guys, thanks for the info in advance.

Next weekend Il be replacing all of the front end steering and suspension components on my 94 k1500 including the CV axels. Another repair on my list is to replace the oil pan as the previous owner boogered up the drain plug which wont seal all the way. It has already been re tapped and is pretty much secured with rtv or epoxy.

Ive read a bunch of threads stating if I loosen the front diff bolts and lower it, it should give me enough room to slide it out, and if not I could loosen the motor mounts and jack up the engine enough for clearance.

My question is do any of you suggest me doing this now or will it be any easier while the front end is torn apart? Or will it be a pain either way?

Thanks, Mike.

Gidday mate. I'd do it when you have the front end apart especially seeing as you are changing the front half-shafts. Another 4 bolts and the diff is out. There are a couple of engine braces that are in the way of the pan and if you have oil cooler lines on the oil filter housing, they are in the way as well. It's a whole lot easier when you aren't trying to see/reach around things in your way.
