Well, I have worked on a lot of these trucks, but never owned one till now.

'99 Z71 2dr Tahoe in Indio Blue. Tow pkg, but no hitch. Blue cloth. Most power stuff. Barn doors. Dead stock with 129,000mi.

Disabled AF veteran. Work in IT. Total gearhead as is at least one of my sons. Contributor to bangshift.com. There are NINE vehicles on my property right now and only one isn't GM and one GM doesn't belong to me. Only three are in good working order. Well...four, but I am selling one of them.

Currently putting a new cam, springs, etc on my son's '65 BelAir 4dr with 76,000 original miles. Wiped two lobes so were going with an old Holley, Edelbrock Streetmaster intake, mild cam, double roller timing set, blah, blah, blah. Hardest part....getting the old locks and retainers off the valves. 52 years old and they didn't want to move.

My 64 Chevy II sedan is down with a bad tranny. Flexplate broke...converter wobbled and it seems to have taken out the pump (at least). Makes bad noises when I spin the converter. Doesn't eat much and I will eventually get to it.

I will have questions about stuff on this tahoe. I'd rather not tear into it before knowing what I have. Being late in the series and as things were transitioning...it isn't like what I expected.

Last three full-size GM trucks were a '99 Silverado ECSB, '01 Suburban LS 4wd, and '06 Suburban LS 4wd.

Currently have my '94 S10 ecsb 2wd I bought new....sold to my brother-in-law back in '98 and my father-in-law gave back to me about 4 years ago. It's only used on the property, but I hope to get it back on the road next year. My DD '97 S10 Blazer 4dr 4wd is down with another leaking heater core and what I suspect is a vacuum leak keeping the air doors from opening properly. It's a beater I've had for seven years now. It sits on 31" goodyears. It has tubular control arms, custom rear springs, lift shackles, rear locker, 4-wheel discs off a 2000 Jimmy (front two-piston), and lots of other stuff. Goes up our steep drive dragging the rear diff through the snow. No rear sway bar. Quick disco on the front. It has followed a few stock Rubicons on some decent trails. Most folks are surprised by what it can do, but I tried a lot of stuff on it around our place and I had a lot of S-series parts laying around to play with. I wasn't really ready for a new DD just yet, but the thought of tearing the dash out to swap in another heater core didn't have me doing cartwheels.

Got the Tahoe because I wanted something SBC-powered, but newer. Used to drive and wrench on my father-in-law's old '91 SCSB 4x4. 350/700r4. Did a lot of maintenance on it and hop-ups too. I think it had around 210,000 on it when he sold it. Always liked the full-size 2dr Tahoe/Blazer. A square-body with a stick and TBI 350 would have been great, but clean specimens are very pricey.

Well....that's pretty much it. Not doing anything crazy with the Tahoe. It's for DD and towing. Likely put a lunchbox locker in it, cat-back, maybe an air intake, and it will get some more aggressive tires. We live on a little more than 5 acres way out in the boonies on the top of a big hill. Floods in the valleys and the way our hills are situated we get some big snow drifts. Open diffs front and back won't cut it. I'm not rock crawling it or trail riding it, but it can be challenging just getting to the house.

See ya around.
