Just picked up a 1998 C2500. I noticed right off that the CC didn't work, but that didn't matter as far as the purchase was concerned. I checked the fuse, it's good. The truck has an aftermarket trailer brake module under the dash, so I disconnected it. Still nothing.
My old '95 never had a CC problem, so I've never troubleshot one.
Any quick tips, historical problems, etc that I can try or look for?

This may be seem stupid but did you make sure the cruise control cable is still attached and within spec to the throttle body? Mine was disconnected when I bought mine.

Not stupid and I will check.
I've got a pretty extensive list of "must do" items before I get to the CC. I've never had any problems with it in other vehicles and no experience working on it.
I did see an article/post somewhere else that stated that if a CC wire was used on the trailer brake, that could cause problems, too.
I'll keep y'all updated.
