On my 89 we had to weld a piece to the linkage. The steering shaft got a extension. It's funny that after 25 years I'll be removing it to bring it back to stock
I had 35s on it but it required a suspension lift with a BL. If did put 4:56 gears with 35s and later 4:10s with 33s. Currently it has 33s which is plenty. Truck has 393,000 miles and it still torquey. I'll be rebuilding the motor in a year or so. The stock 33s fit better with the stock wheels as it sucked the tire in the wheel well. When I put the rock crawlers on there it started hitting the fender corners and. wheel well corners with the 35s. I'm actually taking all that off and going to go with a sport truck / 454SS theme.
The one thing I wish I had was the quad headlights. I don't care for the composite look. A family member did that but I don't like it.
You can find the quad headlight brackets at junkyards pretty easily. If you can't find some, pm me. They turn up pretty frequently near me.

Did a online search. No 88/89 GMC in junkyards around me.
When I take off my body lift I'll give it away. I have no use for it.
Truthfully while a lot of people don't care for BL it made things easy. I could fit bigger tires (running 33x12.5 on 15x10 Rock crawlers but I still had a decent ride and if a shock blew out I could get one anywhere.

Have you taken your body lift off an given it away yet? I'd take it off your hands

No not yet. I’m trying to find a place to do machine work on the engine before I start my rebuilding the truck . It’s got 393,000 and it’s starting to burn oil.
I gotta buy bolts so the bod6 doesn’t shift on the frame. It’s gonna be a while before I get to removing it bu5 I will. When I do I’ll hit you up.

Could anyone post or repost pics of their trucks with a 3in body lift on 285/75r16s? I know there were some previously posted but the images won't show

315/75/16 = 34.6 and 315/70/16=33.4 crazy at how much of a difference it makes. hope you are running 75s, because I am gearing with 4.88s and think with 33s it will be way to much gear.

YOU GUYS USING WHEEL SPACERS?? IF SO HOW THICK 1.5 2 Inches?

Anyone have any pics from the back of their stepside trucks with body lift? Just wondering how they look since the bumper sit even with the fender steps. Thanks
