The 6.0 will help with the low end grunt but the triple 12 and the 366 is a killer combo.

I ran a 5.7 in a CCLB. Took a strong sharp motor and turned it into the most gutless vehicle you will ever drive. Don't waste your time/money with a 5.3.

If you are determined to do LS, go 6.0. Personally i think those trucks are so long that you need the diesel torque. That's a big long truck, you need torque to power it. A 5.3 wouldn't end up working out well. A 6.0 would work better.

My personal opinion is that the CCLB trucks need big blocks or diesels. That low end torque is a must.

I'd never do it. Cammed 5.7 with a Whipple in my 1500 is pretty good, but there's a reason my CCLB dually has a big block. You'd hate your life with it empty let alone having it loaded or pulling something

Maybe try reducing your price on the 5.3, and start looking for a 454 you can swap in, they can't be that expensive. Then if you really want it to be aggressive you can throw boost at it.

If you have the money and don't want to get rid of it, bore it out. But they are right the weight of that truck will eat up that 5.3 rather quickly. Boost is gonna be your only friend to make that 5.3 move like you want it to.
