i have made a post on this before. I have still not fixed the brake lights. I have replaced the turn signal switch, the brake switch, all fuses relating to the lights and switched out the wiring harness that connects the two lights together. My 3rd brake light functions normally. Which lead me to believe it was the turn signal switch. The first one I bought was a POS and fried in two seconds. The second one fixed one problem where the left side rear blinker did not work. But still no brake lights. Taillights, hazards, blinkers and reverse lights all work. Any idea on what to do next? I’m losing my patients and I am 2 months past inspection.

Have you checked the harness near the back of the bed where your trailer wiring would be installed if you had any? That plug in the tail light harness is a common cause of this.

Could it possibly be the circuit boards in the tail lights themselves...I had to replace one that just wasn't working any longer.

Did you check to see if you're even getting voltage at the pins? Like D. Powell mentioned, every one of these trucks I've bought has had problems with the circuit board portion the lights snap into. I can't imagine rust is a big problem where you are but it's worth a look.

One is not functioning properly. However, I have swapped working lights and the problem continues.
Was just a thought...I have been having intermittent brake issues this past week and found the harness from the turn signal switch to be falling apart...just 28 years of plastic giving it up. So that is my weekend project to replace the turn signal switch and anything else that is tucked inside that damn steering column LOL. Good luck with your issue.

I'm assuming you checked the ground at the rear of the truck and/or trailer harness if you have it? Definitely check to see if you're actually getting voltage to the rear.
