Can anyone help me with my problem? I have a 1998 chevy k1500 on 33s and I can't seem to get the wheels to turn. When I cold start my truck the wheels will turn easy but after the fluids warm up the wheels no longer want to turn. I have replaced the pump and flushed the fluids and I've still got the same problems.

Revving it would cause the pressure to increase. If the wheels turn easy my next question is what process was used to bleed the air out of the system after the fluid flush.

If they don't my next question would be do you still have the electronic variable orifice on your truck. The "EVO" controls the flow rate/ pressure on the latter gmt400's at low speed it is supposed to allow more fluid than at higher speeds. If that system has failed then it could in theory stop flow out of the pump or at least limit it to the point the power steering will not work

Couple things it could be: poor quality rebuilt steering pump(most likely), or could be steering gear. Or both. In my case it took replacing both.

I put an AC Delco reman pump in for my old leaking one, and it still didn't work right out of the box. I had to get the RPM up to get any power assist at all. Turns out the low RPM bypass valve was stuck, so I took it out and put in the one from the old pump. Worked perfect after that. I was surprised that an AC Delco branded part failed out of the box like that.

I installed a new lifetime pump from oriellys and it came without an EVO on the new pump. The paper in the box said to tie the wire somewhere up and out of the way. I lowered my truck back down using the keys for the torsion bars and that helped some but it still has some problems steering and I don't think having 33s makes that big of a difference. I tried the revving and it didn't seem to do much either but I will try it again.

You said you replaced the power steering pump, did you make sure to get any air out of the lines? When I replaced mine I had to burp/bleed the power steering after replacing the lines and pump and it was fine after that.

I had the truck on the lift when I added the new fluids after the pump swap and flush. I turned the wheel from lock to lock with the key on but the truck off till the gurgling went away and then I turned the truck on for about a minute and rechecked the fluid level.
