Hi can the speedometer sensor send a direct signal to the cluster through the module? I have swapped my truck's engine for a Carbureted V8 Speedo did not work already, but I think that even if I get a replacement cluster I may still not be ale to use the speedometer. Please help

The vehicle speed sensor sends a signal to the VCM which sends a voltage signal to the speedometer in the cluster.

Without the VCM, you'd need some means for converting the signal. Not sure how that would be done, but you're probably not the first to ask so maybe there is an aftermarket method.

Guys I found a Texas instruments device that can convert the speedometer pulses to voltage, I have made some calcs, do you knoe what are the voltage increment inputs per mile or per kilometer for a GMT400 stepper motor? my cluster reads 0-200km/h but it supposedly does not work. so I want to do some testing.
