Send pics of this truck! I'm curious to see details on the Mexican GMT400 since lack of info online is non-existent.

Thanks in advance :)
This!!!

Did it use a carburetor or was it EFI??? Funny how no info can be found anywhere about them..

I want to see these pictures. I would honestly keep or replace the engine with w V6 and NV3500 MG5. He might have the Muncie SM465. My 1993 truck came from the Ft. Wayne plant with a 5.7L 350 CID TBI NV3500 MG5 3.08 gears in a ten bolt. Now your gear ratio is weird. I did not know that GM built those ratios.

Black Water, this truck came from facotry with a non-GM diff (Spicer tagged as 3.42:1) vehicles built for Mexico seem to be like frankensteins made with older generation truck leftover inventories. 4 spd and a L6 engine for example, this is a half ton truck (C1500) that is the weirdness.

Also, did they build the Topkick truck with the GMT400 cab all the way to 2008 like Wikipedia says? And do you know what engines those later model trucks got?

Thanks in advance :)

Of course, I'll post some pics of it, my engine is not from that truck, the 454ci engine which is carbd I got it from other truck years earlier. it came equipped with a 4.1 L inline six. Regarding the Top Kicks, I assume they mostly came out with 454s on TBI w 4 bolt main, and later models with the same engine on vortec EFI.

My actual engine probably was TBI originally as it has a knock sensor (disabled) I bought it with a Rochester 4Bbl that had curiously motorcraft parts on the secondary side, I upgraded to a Holley 600CFM street performance (I think is a 1850 series) a, headers and a flowmaster imitation true dual to the cabin length all on 3" pipes. Dunno how much power I do on it haven't taken it to the dyno

How is that trans good for drag racing? It shifts like turds, long throw and long wait times for the syncros lol. Wouldn't the M21 be better? It is a robust trans, well suited for work and I liked low range for curb hopping an such. I miss that truck but couldn't stand the lack of OD and no one wanted to let an NV4500 go for less than $800 where and when I could find one.

Sorry I did not type correctly, I meant the gear ratios and end ratio were good for hauling or drag, and Yes my transmision shifts like a turd between 1st and 2nd gear it grinds a lot, 3rd and 4th are other story, can be shifted w/o clutching. so I am looking here for a 5 speeder, any other option besides the NV4500? NV3500? how to identify them?

The 4.1 it had, was it carb'd or was it fuel injected? Also, what does your instrument cluster & interior look like?

Cluster and interior. Brake and clutch pedals are trapezoidal they are from factory and those were in 88-94 models only, 95-95 were square. I changed the steering wheel from a 99. I got a reconditioned clusterthat will paint and install soon it has the top cover made with Fiberglass to get rid of the sun cracking ABS problem.

Straight six TBI, interesting. I've always loved Ford trucks up to '97 (3/4 ton+) as you could get them with a straight six that are damn near indestructible and with port fuel injection. Ford called it SEFI but it was a batch fire system. Still, I've never had an F series truck without that engine, love 'em. If I could get my hands on a 4.1 and that injection set-up though...
