I've come to the conclusion that a wideband will be helpful for tuning.
Where do you have yours mounted @Christian Steffen ?
Seems like something I wouldn't need to watch every time I drive since I don't have forced induction.

I don't actually run a standalone gauge. I run the output from the wideband controller into my hp tuners unit so I can log it right along with every other parameter, this is the way you'll want to have it set up for tuning. A separate gauge would be nice for normal driving too but I don't consider it a high priority, due to the lack of boost like you mentioned.

With the standard hp tuners suite, you have to wire the wideband output through something like the egr signal wire to get it to read in, there are plenty of write-ups on it. Would only be a problem if you plan to leave egr intact while tuning? No reason to that I see.

It was getting dark so the quality isn't great, but you get the idea. Most widebands spec how far down from the headers they should be. All you need is an o2 bung and a welder.

Oh, I thought you were going to show a pic of how to hook it into the EGR wiring.

Looks exactly like mine. My EFI Live has an external output that I wired the wideband controller to so it sees that in addition to everything else the truck has. I have a gauge too because you know, why not.

I thought I mentioned that I'm running it through the hp tuners? Just like gmctruck with his efilive. There are two versions of hp tuners, the pro is what you need for that ability. If you don't want to spring for the pro unit, then either the egr or ac signal wire is your next option to get the wideband data into the computer. Egr is usually the popular option since a lot of people tune out the egr anyway. If you google "wideband through egr hp tuners" there should be some threads that pop up on the hp tuners or ls1 forums. I haven't extensively researched this, but it can't be too hard.
