if memory serves they are thicker rotors, near same diameter of the 1/2 ton. i had a parts guy line them up for me some years back. same limitation as the 1/2 tons with the obs-type knuckle design that prevents larger diameter rotors.

i did the nbs swap on my 1/2 ton burb 3 years back after considering the options...tried performance rotors, green pads, etc. the ssbc kit is the exact same rotor size..knuckle limitation..so i opted in favor of the nbs swap when i was rebuilding the front of my truck at 130k. happy with the results

think of it this way 6 lugs are all the same, 8 lugs are the same. there ya go. cut and dry. f44 is a semi float 14 bolt and leaf package nothing more. z71 is shocks(that are hopefully replaced at this point) stickers and skid plates, g80 is factory govloc. the three do not correlate.

So today I installed the nbs MC, tomorrow I will put on the 3/4 ton calipers, only waiting on some slotted rotors, new pads and rear drums, at some point I want braided brake lines too

I did the Caliper swap, very easy, the caliper is the same lenght and all that, only a little taller because of the bigger pistón, I am running 15"s wheels without problem, and is brakes a lot better

Here's a question, I've got warped front rotors on the truck right now so I need to do a brake job. Thinking about going all out and getting the 1 ton calipers and using 1/2 ton rotors and pads, my truck isn't F44 equipped but I heard the F44 rotors are a little bit beefier. Can I run those rotors on a non F44 equipped truck?

Only if you swap the hub/bearing assembly from a truck with the F44 brake option

I have never heard of F 44? can you elaborate.

It is the heavy chassis option that was available on the ECLB K-1500 pickups and the SCLB camper specials on the early GMT 400's. The hubs rotors and calipers were different from the base model brakes. I swapped these parts into my SCSB and the difference was much improved braking.
