My 97 silverado

What's going on guys the truck has been in hibernation lately lol so the other night I brought it out and cleaned it. I took it to a truck meet that night and came home with a light sponsor haha. Well anyways I'll I've done to the truck lately is I put 2 electric aux cooling fans on it and put on a roll on bed liner other than that it's been sitting

What's going on guys. Haven't been on here in a while a lot hasn't really happend but maintenance. Lets see around Xmas time I blew a head gasket so I did that luckily the heads were fine so I just did gaskets and used arp head studs just because. Then new years the original spider injection called it quits so I got the acdelco updated unit. Around march I sacked up and put longtube headers on it and a dynomax ultraflow 3.5 single inout muffler. I loved that muffler but either I was to hard on it or it was a cheesy weld I blew it apart so I put a 40 series on it full 3 inch y pipe. The ultraflow made the truck sound like it reved quick and super hard but at 80 on the freeway the drone almost killed me haha. The flowmaster has a good idle but sounds raspy and doesn't seem to rev as quick. I still haven't tuned the truck but it needs it bad rightnow. I almost broke the upper arm off the truck so I had that tig welded back together with extra braces. Last but not least i almost traded my buddy for his 92 f150 with camburg 4 over beams 16" 3.0 fox coil overs and deavers with a mildly built 5.8l that truck was stupid fun the week he let me use it haha

Well I may have just came up on a killer deal today ill find out this weekend when I go to look at it.

14 bolt semi float with Detroit locker 4:11s
Rebuilt 40k 4l80e
130k 5.7l
All the wiring and computer that came out of the truck

Truck was wrecked and was considered totaled and the guy just pulled all the running gear out.

All of that for $200 he's moving shop and wants it gone

Have you smogged since putting those headers on? I'm interest in putting some on but couple of smog shops around me say they'll flag em right away.

I'm not even going to try and smog it with them. When I put this system on I made it so I can take everything out in about 30 mins or so . plus I kept all the old exhaust and manifolds so I can swap it over when the time comes.

What's a set of gaskets and 2 hours of my time to have the easy of paying 20-30 bucks to keep the truck smogable.

Ps little side story
I was lazy one day and went to jiffy lube to do an oil change and the guy went under the truck and said we can't touch this thing because it illegal

Good idea. They couldn't do simple oil change cuz the exhaust? Wtf hah well guess they dnt want to be paid. Sounds good. Similar to father in laws el Camino at an idle.

I guess they couldn't because they aren't allow to touch a vehicle that doesnt have cats that were originally equipped

What kind of upper control arms are those? Did they come with the Fabtech lift or can you get them separately? Been looking for chunkier control arms.

These where the arms that came with Fabtech 6 inch lift kit back in 98 or 99
