Here we go...

Hello evrybody, many times ago I probably been registered here but was not active for some reasons.
Now Im not silent any more :33:

A short story about me and my vehicle.
I'm just almost 23 y.o, I live in Moscow, Russia. I study in moscow aviation institute and will finish it in 6 months or so. I love rock, metal and country music (Dire Straits, Texas Hippie Coalition, Red Soive etc.)
And of course I like Chevy:boti:

Many guys here love american full size trucks/suvs/pickups. We have some russian-speaking communities for owners of Chevy trucks, Ford Trucks, Ram Trucks, vans and etc.
I bought my chevy tahoe '96 for approx $ 6000 just 2 years ago and for this period I faced many troubles. I already did powertrain replacement due to engine and trans problems. It was hard but I succesfully did it. But newly replaced engine is not that good too...I bought it for cheap and of course it was a used one.

Anyways my Chevy is still running and gives me bunch of fun&joy.
Posting this from office, can add more photos later when I got home.

If you are intrested I can start another thread (or continue here) for posting everything happenes to my truck (with photos/videos)

P.S.: english is not my native language but i'm trying to do my best

Welcome from the USA, and nice truck! Always cool to see these trucks in different parts of the world. We have a few other members here who are also located in Russia.

Your English is very good, by the way!

Where was your truck manufactured? And are used parts easy to come by? BTW your english seems better than some Americans.

I checked my VIN, my truck was manufactured in US, JANESVILLE.
I like the manufacturing date, it's 13 Dec 1996. It was Friday by the way :893Chainsaw-Smilie-
We have some junkyards here where we can find used parts.
New OEM or replacement parts we buy from rockauto, ebay and some russian shops like Academy Plus, Triton Import and so. Of course there are some guys in our communities who sell parts cheaper than shops :)
But usually we have to wait 14 days due to shipping parts from US to Russia. Sometimes it take longer time, up to couple of months.

Shipping is really expensive...sometimes it doubles total price

Welcome! So, did the Russians do it?? :D

well gmt400 generation was built in US/Canada/Mexica/Brasil only I believe. Since begin of 00-years gmt840, gmt900, k2ux based vehicles (tahoe, escalade, hummer) made in Belarus or Kaliningrad in Russia. We have local GM dealers here...just a little bit of them
