Maybe someone can help with where to start with this. 99 tahoe approx 110k miles dies only when over 90+ outside but will restart immediately and drive for a mile or so then die again. It does have new fuel pump in last 10k miles but it's probably in need of basic tuneup plugs, wires... Anything else I should be looking at? Also, CEL is occasionally on for misfire cylinder 6 (I think, cant remember the code). I will check and see if it's throwing any other codes. Thanks

Before going any further I would do the tune up. New plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor ( I had to use the ACDelco dist parts or it misfired)

Also do the fuel filter.

if it's heat related i would suspect ignition module, but change the coil and module at the same time preferably.

And there's a heat sink the module bolts onto. Might as well replace it too while you have the whole assembly off the engine.

Just had a similar issue with my 92. I replaced the coil, distributor, coolant temperature sensor and fuel pump. Truck has 300k miles so I just did them all at once.

I also did the alternator as it was not producing enough when the AC was on high.

Runs a lot better now.

idk about that since a blob of metal isn't going to wear out but you must use thermal compound when installing new module.
