I'm on a mission to replace every fluid in my 200k 96 C1500. All that I am lacking is power steering and rear diff.

Can anyone tell me what the recommended fluid and capacity is on this? Thanks!

The Haynes Repair Manual says to "fill" the diff. This means add differential fluid slowly until it oozes back out of the fill hole. I just did mine and it took more than 2 liters. It was about 3 quarts, or 2.84 liters.

And just for anyone else reading, it doesn't matter if you have the factory locker, or not - you don't use any "posi" additive in the differentials any GMT400 truck came with.

"Posi" additive or friction modifier is for carriers with clutch style limited slip setups only.
