Mine picked up a LOT of wind noise anywhere on the LH side. I wound up mounting it to the dash bezel next to the steering column, sort of behind the gear selector/shifter.
Huh that's wierd, with mine up by the A pillar at the top of the windshield there's no wind noise, could it possibly be a door seal issue?

More likely just the differences in head units and microphones. I've installed a few of these for friends and some of them are much better than others as far as noise cancellation goes. In my experience the newer Pioneers and JVCs are pretty decent, a Kenwood I installed was terrible. Could barely hear anyone over the microphone no matter where I tried it.

Oh yeah I didn't think about that. My Alpine has noise filtering in it so that helps as well

Mine is an older Pioneer, which I bought used from a member of this site. It works well where it is.
