Thanks for the compliments guys. I don't know a whole lot about these trucks and am not sure what a BYP code is, lol. I've drag raced move of my adult life but have been out of the game for the past few years. My plans are to put a larger cubic inch SBC in it and install a 6 speed eventually. I want to lower it, but I don't want it to lay on the ground. I'm looking for input as to what would be the best route to go. I want to upgrade the suspension, brakes, complete new paint job, completely redo the interior. Pretty much a complete restoration. Kind of a resto mod type truck. I'm not even really sure where I want to start with it. I want to do what makes sense first. It has the factory 350 (119,000 original miles) with a 5 speed and factory tach. I want to update everything. I like lean and mean. Where is a good place to start? I'd love to hear everyone's opinions and ideas...

I am also looking for ideas on wheel and tire combos. What is the widest wheel I can put on the back of my truck? I think I want to put a set of staggered 18" and 20" wheels on the truck, but am open to suggestions.

First: brakes, then wheels and tires, then suspension/lower then engine and transmission. If you can, do the first three at the same time, it'll save you the awkward phase, but you should upgrade your brakes before you put big wheels on it. You can also do some weight reduction if you want, but keep it to the front end as much as possible. There's hardly any weight over the rear axle, so you need all you can get there
