Awesome find! Keyless Entry on a GMT400? Wow! Gotta be rare as hell man, even if its dealer installed.

Ive been hunting for a set of those rims. Came across a set on CL and the guy junked the truck without pulling the ad down (or rims)... Grrr. Knowing the yard it went to, they are either all kinds of fubar in the rim pile or in the crushed aluminum scrap bin.

Thanks 98chevy! Oh dont worry the fastback is staying! Yeah the wheels are one of the reasons i got excited. They are super rare, gm called them "premium deluxe" back then. Ive only seen one other truck in person with them, but they were on a newer '96. The keyless entry i believe was a dealer installed option (i think). According to my '88 sales brochure and accessories book.
Premium Deluxe? Ooooo sounds amazing! LOL. I do think the Fastback and rims kind of go together, like PB&J. More sporty wheels for a sporty accessory. ;)

Still, with that Keyless entry, that is still rare to find on a pickup, especially that old. You got pretty lucky man! :waytogo:

I never realized keyless entry was even available back then on these trucks. I remember my mom having it on her '95 Suburban when I was younger and I was amazed.

As for the fastback, that brings back memories of my childhood lol. I remember when the GMT400 first debuted.

Oh i know it! Well i saw that little fob like looking thing on the key chain i was like, eh must be one of those key chain lights right? Nope, i saw the little open and closed paddlocks and was like, no way! Ditto on the rims, ive always looked for them just to have set, very excited to finally have them.

Thanks! Yeah the fastback valence is icing on the cake for this truck, i remember seeing them back then when they were really popular, i think gm really hit a home run with these trucks, they still retained that old school truck status, but with a few modern updates. Todays trucks are way to overrated to me. I think thats why i like the 400 series so much because it was pretty much the end of an era when a truck was a truck. - Brad

Yeah me neither, my moms 96 burb had keyless entry as well. I think the 94 and back was a dealer option, and the 95 n up with the round dash were factory installed. Its funny too because i remember my mom showing off with the keyless entry whenever we went places, because we were used to using the door switch! When walked away and she hit the button it would go BEEP, and folks around would stare at it lol!

I have key less entry on my 2000 K2500 LS CCSB. The stock fob stopped working, but when I got a remote start installed this winter, it started working again with the new remote. So nice. If I could only fox my one sticking door lock.

I think just about every 2500 and 3500 got a key fob, for some reason, 1500's didn't get one. My dad's one ton and my 3/4 ton parts truck both have key fobs and the 3/4 ton is a low end Silverado. Makes no sense...

So far mines been working great on my tonner. Sometimes it can be fidgety, I should get some spare fobs for backup. BTW, Have you had issues with your remote start? I debated putting one in my '98 a couple years back, but many told me they are prone to electrical problems. - Brad
