I looked into stainless braided flex hose instead of stainless hard lines. It was easy to find the correct length hoses and fittings, but none were DOT approved. Finding DOT approved hoses would be more difficult, and would drive up the price. I ended up ordering preformed stainless hard lines from SSTubes.com ($45 shipped) and 8 feet of 3/16" stainless tube armor from Amazon (~$12 shipped).

did it work out for you? im probably going to do the same with mine.

The brake lines and tube armor are in route. I should have them all next week. I'll update with how they fit after I get them installed.

Here is what I bought - https://sstubes.com/TRA9531

I received them yesterday and tried to fit them on the axle tonight. They look and feel like high quality stainless lines already wrapped in the steel guarding. From the wheel cylinders and in on both sides seem to fit well. The bends are very close and any that aren't quite right can be fixed. The issue with them is the connections to the T Block in the middle of the axle. The driver side line is ~4" too long and the passenger side line is ~4" too short from where my T Block is attached to the axle. I've emailed them to see if I can get another set and offered to send them my old lines for a template but they haven't responded yet. I'm sure I'll hear something from them tomorrow.

No don't use Teflon. The flare seals really well. Nope, going to return the tube armor today.

alright. is your truck a DRW or SRW that might have something to do with the lines not being right... are you going to be able to make it work with the T connection?

The new axle is a SRW 14 bolt full floater. I would have to grind out a new relief on the diff cover for the mounting bracket and move it to make it work, I don't really want to do that yet. If they can provide a new set that is closer I would rather do that.
