you should go with 4.88 gears since your camper is that heavy. Your truck is not rated to tow 7k so keep that in mind.

Tbi is throttle body injection. 88-95 trucks

You're welcome. I pulled a 3500 pound trailer 1200 miles in a 4 banger s10, you can definitely pull that weight around, just don't expect it to win any races and keep an eye on your transmission in mountains or anywhere really hilly.

Run with the trans shifted in 3rd on the column. Dont tow that heavy in overdrive. Itll heat up fast and shorten your trans life. Just my two cents.

In addition to heat, it puts more strain on the 3-4 clutch pack to be in 4th vs 3rd. I forget what it heats, was it the planetary?

That'd make sense. 3rd is much more durable as well. Easier to keep your speed on the highway. i have 3.73's and stock tires and I run 2500 RPM at about 65 on the highway in 3rd gear. Good power to keep your speed up.

With 35" tires I'd recommend at least 4.88's but possibly 5.13's if offered. I had 35's with 4.56 and it tows much better with 33's. This is with the 4L80e towing in overdrive. I would not recommend towing in overdrive with the 4L60e in 1/2 tons.
