The cargo light is currently working as it should, powering on with the switch. But the brake light will not shut off period.

There should be 4 wires. ON MINE, there is a black, blue and two whites on the truck side- and a black, white, red and yellow from the light. If I remember correctly, the black is ground of course, and the blue is the cab light. The two whites are brakes. On the plug side the red is for brakes and the white is for the cab lights. Not sure what the yellow was for... I just pulled the yellow wire out of the light plug and taped it back. That's what I was told to do by the folks I bought it from. That stopped the brake light from staying on. Also, the entire light would stay on constantly when the truck was running. Brake and cargo. When I isolated that yellow wire, it all started working fine except for the cargo lights. I figure I can just turn them on manually with that dash switch if I ever had a need for them. Give that a try.

Really enjoy my Spec D LED, $45 from Amazon. I did not have any issues with it. But did read about other guys having to disconnect the yellow wire to make it work correctly, in the Amazon reviews.

I have stayed away from LEDs because of all the problems people have with them. But it's hard to find a affordable replacement 3rd brake light.

Sounds like that yellow wire might be a ground for the cargo light side, test it out and see if cargo light works with the switch again then if it does you can splice it into the black wire and heat shrink done. I just did the cargo light mod by way of tapping white wire in slot A to the black wire in slot B and doubled over the loose end and heat shrunk it. If the cab side of the wire gets grounded it should turn on the interior lights just like you opened a door
