Just jumped back into the gmt400 game. I bought a 93 stepside. Have a massive steering pump leak at it seems to be coming from the front frame rail. Is there a cooler or line in there?

Yes. But is there a cooler in there or does the line just just come over it. That's wher the leak is. I haven't pulled off the grill yet as I just bought the truck and the freakin previous owner somehow forgot to mention this....hmmm. Anyway. It's the only leak I see and if this is it. I'm good!

Is the cooler attached to the front of the radiator and snake right above the rail I guess is what I'm asking or does the cooler go in the rail?

If you have a cooler it will most likely be ran up in the front of your radiator/ac condenser area. By default on our trucks there is an extra length of metal line that runs into the driver side frame horn up front then loops and runs back out, if memory serves me it's the stock return line and there is a small bracket on the frame keeping it in place.

Overclocked is correct.

I've only seen factory coolers on late model (96+) 3500s, so a 93 step-side likely didn't get one.

Either your gearbox has a blown gasket, or one of the tubes in vicinity is your culprit.

My '95 has a factory PS cooler,it's just to the right of the aux. trans cooler and yes the lines run through the core support and could possibly be damaged from age & vibration.

The PS cooler is unbolted and leaning against the off road light.

A shot of the how the lines run, those two with the 90* bend. Please ignore the shiny tube & fin cooler,it was an experiment of mine and is no longer there.

I retract any indication of late model 3500s being the only ones with PS cooler.
I stand corrected.

My 97 K2500 Suburban didn't have one, so I added one along with matching trans cooler go oil cooler, and then just went bat **** crazy on stainless EVERYTHING
