Okay, so I've been kicking around ideas in searching for a new truck to replace my sometimes problematic Suburban,

And as stupid as this sounds I've seen a few trucks with bad motors, and it got me thinking; shell in a Vortec 350 crate motor, new trans and T-case, all that other jazz and I'll have basically a brand new truck drive-train wise, here's what I've got so far;

Vortec 350 crate motor, reman 4L80E and a rebuilt T-case as stated above, maybe press new U-joints in the drive-shafts and rebalance them while I'm at it; I would like to have a 100% new motor, everything from the block to every sensor, valve, hose, bolt, belt, and gasket; along with a few upgrades in the form of a 395 Cam/1.6 Rockers/Spring kit, a tune from BBP (Delete the EGR and Cats and anything else I don't need), MPFI fuel spider, V-max intake spacer, a true CAI, a shift kit for the trans, upgraded coolers and whatnot;

Anything else I'm missing? Is there a list for every sensor and all the little fiddly bits like that anywhere?
Any recommendations or ideas are greatly appreciated,

Thanks ~ Brody

You could do a smidge more compression too. Premium fuel tune as well.

Aluminum heads wouldnt hurt will help avoid detonation. 350 flat tops 2 valve reliefs , 383 26 cc dished pistons .
THis would be for nice daily driver also tune to decrease timing pulled for torque management. Increase torque limits a little bit . Easy enough to build just got to get block done by machine shop balanced assy are cheap enough.

Well, luckily I won't have to worry about this plan anymore; I found a 454 K2500 that fits my needs perfectly...

Although the motor in my Suburban is pretty tired with 250K on it....still kicking around ideas, so far it's 4-bolt main rebuilt bored to a 355, MPFI/TB mod, tune, 4L60E with a Corvette Servo and an S10 converter; my brother will wind up driving it and I don't want it to make too much power....but the 395 Cam is so tempting!
