Do any of you drive junk????

Saw this at the shop and it made me upset. I will argue against putting a gmt400 on junk engine and transmission advertisement.

Well....22 years old, smokes, leaks, terrible gas mileage, noisy, paint peeling....yeah, it's my junker.

I do! I was looking for 4L80e and came across one in town. It was rebuilt and the guy wants $300 for it. I told him to keep it, since rebuilt transmissions never last as long as a factory one. A lot of engines are the same way. OEM environments are almost completely dust free and made by robots that can handle for tight tolerances. The guy at AAMCO... well not so much. Of course there are exceptions to the rule. I have had my own fair share of new parts from warehouses that have bolted on and found to be broken right out the box.

I owned a Jeep J10 for awhile. I learned the ratty 30 year old Duraspark boxes are worth gold in the Jeep community. New ones routinely fail at about the 6 month mark, while factory ones last years and years. I can tell many more stories of similar message, but rather not bore you guys. hahahaha...

Do I buy used OEM parts from wrecking yards? Yes I do!

Mine is pretty junky. Not scrap yard but not waxable either.

I like to think not but every time i look at the passenger side i get reminded that i do.

My Suburban I will admit it junky; faded paint on the hood, rust on the roof, the interior is filthy and some of the electronics don't work, it leaks, it's high miles, but at the same time; even with it sitting in the yard covered with bird **** and it not being driven in a couple days; it looks damn good. Almost as good looking as my K2500;

But ugly goes straight to the bone! Mine (1500) is getting a new roof. Won't fix the hail damage on the entire left side though. Dually still lacks a bed and has nasty belt squeal and an exhaust leak. I'm a trailer trash shoe in, just missing said trailer. I'm sure the neighbors love it.

ONLY REASON I DRIVE MY DEFECTIVE FROM THE FACTORY GM VEHICLES.THAT GM WANT HONOR OR STAND BEHIND OR HAVE RECALLS.IS BECAUSE FORD AND DOGE,S ARE WORST.
