Hi all, just purchased a '97 Z71 to replace my recently wrecked '98. Although it has low miles, I'm experiencing a bunch of issues, especially with the transmission.

I noticed, even at full throttle, the truck seems sluggish and slow. Upon normal throttle, it seems to shift fine. When I give it enough throttle to downshift, it revs properly but doesn't seem to accelerate much, then slams into gear. It also will not do a brake torque, it just seems to stumble. In park and neutral, it revs up normally.

The fluid was a little overfilled but clean. I drained some and refilled to proper level. I have no check engine light and my scanner confirmed that.

I hope you guys can help. Thank you!

honestly it sounds like a drivability issue. I would start with a fuel filter.

Just installed a new TPS and problem remains. I plan to do a stage 0 as everything seems to be original.

The idle is a bit rough and when I try to brake torque, it seems like the trans isn't able to take the power consistently. I. Hoping it's not a shot trans.

Update. I replaced the TPS, fuel filter, spider injector assembly, upper and lower intake gaskets, cap, rotor, thermostat, and cleaned the MAF. Problem persists.

Still no service engine soon light. (it isn't burned out)

I'm going to go ahead and check fuel pressure and if the cats are clogged.

Truck slowly seems to be better. It accelerates better off the line and I'm able to do brake torques now.

However, the other day when downshifting, it seemed to bounce off the Rev limiter at 5500-6000 rpm.

And also it felt like it slipped in OD at around 40mph. I put it in D and it accelerated fine again.

Still no codes.
