Woo! Got my first brand new tranny and I've never installed one! Haha I got a 1998 Chevy k2500 project truck that came with no tranny so I'm piecing things together. First question is, do I leave this rubber piece in when I bolt the 4x4 adapter plate on? Also, on my truck there is a top mounting hole yet no top mounting spot on the tranny itself. Enlightenment on that would be very helpful. I will probably be back with more stupid questions so i'll keep them in this thread. Thank you!

Leave the rubber, it is a lube passage. It lubes the rear tailhousing bushing. The bellhousing bolt pattern is different, but I have seen them swapped.
