Hey yall, first post here. I'm not sure if this goes here but you guys can bump it if I'm wrong. I'm buying a 1998 k2500 from a guy pretty cheap but it doesn't have a tranny. The guy said everything works as it should but he can't start it without a park signal from the transmission to engage the starter. Any way around this? Thanks guys

I've done this on a 1995-up (1995 being first year with the range switch attached to the transmission) but it's been long enough I can't remember if the range switch was left loose when the transmission was pulled...so I don't know if it was in place or not.

At the very most it would be easy to take a range switch with you and just plug it in, and be sure the switch is in the park or neutral position.

Or, study the wiring diagram to the range switch and jump the necessary pins, though it'd be far easier just to take a switch with you.
