Sway bar is in place, just used the stock one flipped. Had to make tabs on the axle:

Going to need to re do the cross member:

Stock drive shaft should work. It only came out of the yoke 1/4-3/8"

Still have to put the break lines in, front shock mounts, take the steering box out to change the pitman arm, fix that cross member, finish the flatbed, swap t cases.

Going to make the flat bed kind of like this:

i love your enthusiasm and energy.......but this surprises me. did you grind it to shape after? i don't think it'll last. for all the blood, sweat and tears you're putting into this rig i would think you'd be using sway-bar disconnects....you gain a **** pot more articulation...........

twas me, i'd heat and bend 1/4" stock OVER the tube and out front.....ground to a radius just beyond the bushings......(like the bar itself)

it may sound critical, because it is..... that's how i learned. someone should tell you.......

carry on man.....you're doing great!

I recently re did the sway bar tabs on the axle. and yes sway bar disconnects are on the way. Thank you very much for the advice and criticism.

a lot has happened since I last updated this thread. A lot of things have been gone over and re done. First off I blew up the original motor in the truck. I got the motor pulled and then started tearing it down and this is what I found as I took the head off.

Cylinder 8 grenaded. I pulled the oil pan off and found all the pieces of the piston.

I bought a junk yard 350 and put all new Fellpro gaskets in it and a brand new high volume oil pump in it. and then we dropped it in.

(I cleaned it up since now and it looks much better)

Motor runs great, No unusual noises very good oil pressure (65 psi cruising, 40 psi idle hot)

I bought a 1982 k20 with a 14 bolt ff and a dana 44 hd 4.10 gears (would normally have a 10 bolt but who ever had this truck put a 44 in it) for 300 ended up scrapping the rest and selling the doors for $125 and broke even.

Since the squarebodys have narrower frame widths then the GMT400 series trucks me and a buddy had to make spring perches and weld them to the axle.

We put new u joints and ball joints in the front and installed it.

Then the back was next.

For tires im running 36x12.50R16.5 TSL Supper Swampers

Did more work to the flatbed (still not done yet)

Then I ran across an SM465 with hydraulic bell housing from a 1990 k2500 for $350.

NP241 from a 1990 suburban.

Now its all apart so I can swap the input shaft to a 32 spline for the SM465.

Was walking threw the junkyard and found these:

Topkick/Kodiak handles.

Some flex shots, could go up a bit more yet.
