I would greatly appreciate any help. I have 96 Chevy K 1500 5.7 vortec. I was changing the fuel pressure regulator and when I went to dig out the old fuel pressure regulator and screen from the spider injector I pulled one too many pieces out. The piece I pulled out looked like a metal screen and it is attached to a black shaft that runs into the spider injector and goes all the way to below the two fuel lines that go into the injector. I pulled pretty hard to get this piece out now when I try to put it back in it seems like it doesn't go in as far as it should, what is this piece and how do I get it back in or did I just make a huge mistake thank you for anybody that responds.

Worst case, you spend an extra $300 or so and just update to the MPI. With the upper intake off, you're pretty much there anyways.

But, a picture of what you have would help.
