i remember living upstate and driving on those "black hole abyss light sucker" roads in the mist and rain.

i don't know about those Silverstars. maybe they don't put out the light that the Philips and Osrams do..... they don't even SAY what they do put out ie; +30%, +100% etc........that's probably why they lost a 30 million dollar class action law suit with their other bulbs.......you have the HIR's for the high beam, right?

the color temperature for the philips can be found here: scroll down, it's 3400K
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00U1OLM1Q/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1

or the Osram Nightbreaker Unlimited:
https://www.amazon.com/OSRAM-Night-...id=1490582239&sr=1-1&keywords=osram+9006+bulb

i'm pretty sure that "segment" your referring to is buried in the Spyder thread.....who the hell knows where tho.....

Yes to the Phillips 9011 HIR1 in the high side. They are sweet, turn them on and almost like turning the sun on, well sort of, almost. I can see with them, but I don't remember turning them on in the rain in the 'black whole'. :(

I think I'll order me a set of the Philips 9006 X-tremeVision from Amazon, I hope I don't get to many 'why do you want get that POS bulb' Reading some of the reviews where the person show people showed pictures of OEM and those bulbs is what convinced me I want to order them. Yes I see a small blue ring at the top, I'm hoping it isn't so much it will cast as much of a blue tint as the Sylvania SilverStars I currently have in there. The Phillips are suppose to have a 3400 K temp, where the Sylvania SilverStars are suppose to be 4100 K.

i have the Philips VisionPlus +60% in my truck right now with a harness.....it's fantastic........i do have the +100% pack waiting to go in when one of mine blow......just my $.03.

yes....i don't like temperature over 3700......it seems all the "xenon super duper plus hid ***** with the kung fu grip" have that "look"....but they throw around 20% less light because of it.....when you filter out the red and yellow spectrum you filter out LIGHT! and it shows(or doesn't) on the road........just because it LOOKS whiter doesn't mean there's more light.......that's why people ride around with there factory fog lights on.....they light up directly in FRONT of their car and THINK they can see better.....but of course they can't because their pupils constrict due to the foreground light and they actually diminish their distance vision! if you can see something directly in front of your car at 40mph....you are going to HIT it.

my fingers huuurt.

and just another though on the "review people".

most of them want HID lights or HID color.....everyone's chasing that and think that magic bulbs will give it to them.......i can't, for the life of me, understand why......that 6K, even just 5K color makes me feel like i'm driving/riding in some kind of video game.........

i think some of em park their cars in a dark lot and look at them from afar....with their blue lights on of course......and their FOG lights just HAVE to be the same color...some have WHITE signal lights.....i can't tell if these shitheads are comin, goin or left already....it's distracting....some of these ********* are putting HID kits in their reverse lamps!

ok, rant off.

good bulbs give good light with a color a bit better than the stock long life "bleck" bulbs......

if Cibie would have made their new LED Oscars lineup in the 4K range of color they be on my truck and i wouldn't be broke.....but they're 6K, like all the rest because it sells i guess......the "new kids on the block" don't KNOW what driving wiith old lights is like......just like they can't tell time with a clock that has "hands" on it.

ok.....i think i'm done now........i'll go back to the cookoo thread where ranting is the norm.......:whymewhyme:

I ended up ordering the Philips 9006 VisionPlus, they are suppose to have a 3300K color with 60% more light. That to me can be a subjective statement, the percent of light. I'd like to see them do the comparison using the set up we have on our vehicles, against the bulbs we currently are using. Even if it is against the blue-ish tint of the SYLVANIA 9006 SilverStar Ultra that I'm currently running, but not after my order get here. I wonder if that would still be "60%" more. Since I don't have a light meter, I guess I'll have to hope my eyes are 'calibrated' good enough to see the difference.

when you get the bulbs....put one in one side and find a long dark road to do a "beam check" side by side with the Sylvania bulb.....let's see the difference.

is there any reason you went with the VisionPlus +60% as opposed to the XtremeVision +100%? i did it when doing my initial testing because i got them for "used" from Amazon for $12.....i'm very impressed and will be doing a side by side with the + 100% when one of mine blow out....then i'll swap them both and put in the HIR high beam bulbs.

The only reason I went for the 60% vs the 100% bulb, on the 100% bulb I could see in the picture a small blue band at the top, and the 60% bulb I couldn't see any blue on the bulb in the picture, AND it was about half the price too. :)

the blue band, when strategically placed will help raise the temperature a bit....very different from the completely blue bulbs.......the Osram has 2 bands but the filament is exposed so as to not filter OUT light, but t enhance it is my guess......it seems fairly common now on the quality performance bulbs.

but that's not all that makes the good bulb...a tighter wound filament and different gases within contribute to the "higher" output......still legal with wattage requirements, but more light through enhancements.......at least that's how understand it.

of course there's a trade off as far as the longevity is concerned.....and me personally will change bulbs more often for the better light....i see it as a safety device and i'm definitely more at ease driving at night compared to the **** setup my truck came with......my next set of bulbs will enhance my setup even further, while being completely street legal and compliant to our laws......more importantly i won't be dazzling or blinding any oncoming traffic.

just wait till i install the Cibie SC lamp setup....but that's a topic for another discussion.
