40 is the max volume on Pioneer head unit's if I'm not mistaken, right?

What kind of speakers are you running? Any amplifiers?

Did you make sure to check the fuse in the back of the head unit?

The pioneer I had goes up 2 60 and I have pioneer speakers no amp
I bought a diff head unit to see if it was that, now sound will only come from driver door speaker and if I turn it up past 18 it will cut off and I have 2 unplug head unit for it 2 play again

Really sounds like you've got a short in your speaker wiring somewhere. The other head units were probably going into self protection mode.

Yeah sounds like either too much load / resistance on the wiring from the deck to the speaker, or insufficient power / amperage being delivered to the deck (not as likely but a good possibility). I would get a multimeter and start checking out voltages... see what kind of voltage you're getting for constant (and switched) power at your head unit, see how much resistance there is between the deck and the door wiring, etc.
