Just bought this truck, still working my way thru the bugs. All lights seem proper except the reverse lights. Neither come on when in reverse. Is the switch on the transmission itself? Is there a specific fuse for these? Thanks for any info!

1995-up, that black item on the driver's side of the transmission where your shift cable hooks up...the range switch...is a combo park/neutral safety, reverse light switch, and also tells the PCM what gear you have selected.

They go bad sometimes, but also the wiring on them can get cooked.

I'd start with the more obvious though. Bulbs are good? Taillight circuit boards are good? Wiring good all the way to the circuit boards and ground to the frame is good?

You can disconnect the rear lamp harness at the end of the driver's side frame rail and test directly at that connector. The reverse lights are on the light green wire.

I believe your turn signal and backup lights share a fuse. If the blinks are working probably not the fuse.

Yeah blinkers work. I'll check that harness once I get this darn truck running again (long story)

Like said above, check out the taillight boards, I had a board that the reverse "lens" was busted out on, thus defeating the purpose of that sticky foam seal that goes around the outside of the whole lens and the board, and my reverse lights were acting like I had a bad ground (flickering lights, low light, no light at all), when I swapped in a whole new to me (pick a part score) board and my reverse lights work great now.
