Figured i'd make a thread for all of my other current projects and vehicles that take time away from my GMT's. I never know how long i'm going to have some of this stuff, and I never know when i'm going to find something new and interesting so i'll just lump them all together.
I'll start with the one i've had the longest, a 1995 Suzuki Sidekick that I swapped an SR20DET in two years ago. Runs and drives pretty good, but could use more tinkering. Only gets driven on warm sunny summer days.

Next, is a co-owned SCCA rally car, a 2002 Infiniti G20. We've used it for a few events, so its certainly gotten beat up, and could always use some improving, but it's at the point where we don't really want to put any money into it unless its a necessity.

I picked up this 1978 MGB for cheap on Craigslist, because it was cheap and cool. Didn't come with an engine, but rolls and steers at least. Was in the middle of a restoration and the PO gave up. Obviously has no paint, but would make a cool rat rod. Sold the transmission that came with it, so i'm into it for $200.

Newest acquisition is this 1995 Suzuki Sidekick, well, whats left of it. The PO shortened the frame by 2 feet, and had hopes of turning it into an off road golf cart. He wanted out of the project, so I got the whole rolling chassis, most of the interior, and the body, even though its shot for $200. I'm going to take a couple parts off of the body and scrap that, so it will be more like $150

Not too sure what my route will be for that yet, but I was contemplating hacking up the MGB and putting that body on the Sidekick frame, but who knows.
I do also have this 1994 Civic. It's been my daily beater for pretty much the past 4 years. I've beat the crap out of it, and it has really been nothing but reliable. Only thing is, reliable doesn't mean good. It just needs so many things that I should fix, but don't want to put the money into it. I'm looking at a potential new daily driver on Wednesday. If that works out, I'll either sell it for a few hundred bucks, or potentially keep it and turn it into a demo car.

So yeah, this is what takes time away from my other 3 GMTs.

So, went to look at a 2003 Acura CL Type S yesterday, was just over an hour and a half away. It was such a piece of ****. The seller said nothing was wrong with it, but there was plenty, to the point where my super lowball offer wasn't good enough. Oh well, i'll keep on looking. On a different note, I picked up this gem today. It was listed on Craigslist for free, and I was able to grab it during lunch. It's a 1980 Pinto. 2.3 4spd. No title, and missing several parts , but is supposed to run. The previous owner bought it to steal parts from for his ex-drag car to put it back on the street. I don't know what i'm going to do with it, maybe see if it will run so I can sell the drivetrain, or just part it out and scrap the rest. Either way, I have nothing into it.

So there have been a few developments. I spent a little time on Saturday going over the Pinto, and found that most of the engine harness is also gone, so no chance in trying to get it to start without spark. I cleaned it up a little, and posted pics on Craigslist. I've got someone planning on checking it out on Friday. Aside from that, I bought a 1999 Toyota Solara off of ebay. It looks nice in the pictures, and was decently priced. I plan to get it on Sunday. Hopefully there won't be any surprises. As long as there aren't, it will be replacing my Civic. I also have had my SR20 posted on craigslist for a while with hardly any emails. All of a sudden, I had 5 different emails about it this morning, and pretty sure I have a buyer for that so if all goes according to plan, i'll yank that out on Saturday.

Just sold the Pinto for $400, not bad for not doing anything to it. I also got a deposit on the SR20 so that's coming out tomorrow. I have also decided what I will do with the MGB and the short frame.... combine them! I have everything to make the engine on the frame run and drive, so I think i'll turn that into a fun summer project aside from my '93. I'll just pop the doors and top on my other Sidekick and shove it out back of the barn, to turn into another future project at some point. At least lots of the big stuff is done like I swapped it to a hydraulic clutch, and installed a high pressure fuel pump.

Sidekick drivetrain is no more. Put the doors and top on and rolled it outside. Went and got the Solara today, its a pretty nice car. Made the trip back with hardly any issues.

Sold the Civic yesterday, sad to see it go, but this Solara will be so much nicer of a ride, and has nicer options. Had to throw a coil in it, but other than that, cleaned up great. I got really lucky, because when I had first picked it up, it would randomly lose power then come back and pop the CEL on for an ignition coil. It did it about 7 times the whole trip back. While I had it in the shop the other day, I was pulling it out and it stalled and wouldn't restart. Apparently this code disables the injectors to prevent converter damage, so if it had happened on the way back during the 4.5 hour trip, I would have been screwed. Luckily it finally decided to give up while in the shop. Couple other little things I want to do, but its just cosmetic stuff.

Whats the plans for the sidekick now?
For now, its going to get stored behind my barn. I'll come up with a new drivertrain swap at some point, maybe LS? For now my 93 is still my main project, but I also am excited to start playing around and making the 4 wheel stubby MGB
